Sealing Solutions for Coffee Machines
Seals in coffee machines must withstand demanding conditions throughout the entire brewing process. They are exposed to acids, oils, hot water, steam, pressure, as well as cleaning and descaling agents. In dynamic applications such as the brewing unit, wear resistance is crucial. All materials must also comply with relevant food and drinking water approvals.
A variety of materials are used, including elastomers like EPDM, VMQ, Fluoroprene® XP, and FKM, as well as plastics such as PTFE and PFAS free alternatives like HNBR or Quantix®. Key components – such as the brewing unit, boiler, steam wand, hose connections, valves, and pumps – must be reliably sealed.
